Iris Van Herpen - Suspended Motion
Created for Iris van Herpen
Filmed at the Kunsthal Rotterdam, Suspended Motion was created to mark the successful run of the Sculpting the Senses exhibition. Set within the exhibition itself, the film explores the relationship between couture, space, and movement, bringing a sense of life and presence to the museum environment.
Moving through the galleries, the dancer interacts with one of Iris van Herpen's designs, revealing the fluid qualities that often remain hidden when a garment is viewed as a static object. The architecture of the exhibition becomes part of the choreography, creating a dialogue between body, material, and space.
Created as a cinematic companion to the exhibition, Suspended Motion offers a poetic glimpse into the world of Iris van Herpen, where fashion exists not only as an object to be observed, but as something that transforms through movement.
